Can someone recommend or tell me what 3d modelling tool has been used in the attachment? I don't need it to be animated. I just want a static image whereby I can recreate the style of graphics. Apparently it's used in VR. h
Out of Unity and Unreal, which is more user-friendly, and how soon could a novice pick it up? Does anyone know of anybody who could visualize something for me? I want to simulate an image that I can use as a reference for a painting. Weird request, I know.
I'd say Unity is more friendly to those focused on programming, but Unreal is more friendly to those focused on art. Other than that, they each have strengths and weaknesses. Depends what you're after.
So I want to take convert a painting (a still life i.e. fruit, bowls, table in a room with a view of the sea) and recreate it as a 3d space. I want something that looks like something you'd see in VR.
Google a bit, watch some introductory tutorials, all these basic questions are answered there. Right now, it's as if you were asking 'should I use a brush instead of canvas? what's the difference?'
As @Swordslayer says, some research is required. Unreal is a game/real-time engine. Blender is a full-fledged digital content creation package. Although Blender has its own game engine built in, they are completely different toolsets.

Could have been modeled in any DCC tool. The scene was probably done in Unity/Unreal Engine most likely.
