I am in a little bit of a different situation then you are seeing as I am making a portfolio to give to potential art schools. Even though I am a lot less experienced than the average polycount user I have to say this looks very good! The only thing I would change is the center area of the front of your blacksmith character. It feels a little bit empty and bland. I would try adding some more detailing objects on the "apron" or separate from it.
Overall looking very nice!

Nice pieces so far! Seems like you know what you are doing!

One thing I would advice on the last piece of work is enhancing a bit the oval shape on the back of the head.

Seems to be a bit too squashed (it does give him a more "dumb but strong" feel...).
