[3D Coat] exporting transparency/alpha map?

In the texture menu there is not an alpha map export option.. why? and how can I export the transparency I made by using the eraser tool in 3d coat? I haven't been able to find anything on this, and I feel like it's very simple, if not it certainly should be transparency is used often enough, right?

I'm still studying this software, but if you select that particular layer that has transparency in the "layers" palette, and then go to the menu bar > layers > export > color, you'll get a psd with transparent pixels. Hope this helps.
