UPDATE 04:
more blocking in!
Hi,
Doing something a bit different that what I normally do this time around. I used to love Magic: The Gathering growing up and thought it had some of the coolest character design. Surprised to not see more of these characters adapted to 3d.
The goal is: make a game ready model in the style/quality of some of the current gen AAA games coming out these days (Witcher, etc). I'm generally not a real-time guy so I'd like to practice the full pipeline (zbrush, marvelous, substance, marmoset).
Here's the general concept:
A quick material breakdown:
And a new basemesh I'm developing that I can use as a starting point for future characters also:

Surprisingly, it has been pretty hard finding great reference for the different types of cloth he has on! If you have any resources you like, I'd love to see them.
Here's an update on proportions, and starting to climb the Marvelous mountain. Not sure I'm liking the shoes so far, so I'll probably rework them.
Threw some (VERY) temp accessories in to see how proportions/silhouette are looking. The cloak, and sleeves are just dynamesh blobs for now until I go in and do Marvelous work for them.
some temp hair:
Not sure the proportions are working at the moment. Also think I need to add in some more elements, as it looks a little plain and empty. Any crits would be awesome!
Keep plopping out that awesome MD work, and you'll soon be on your way to LP and texturing
Here's an update. I think the design needs to be pushed some more somehow before I move onto detailing..any ideas?
Heya, I'm curious what happened to his belts on his chest? Did you decide to take those out?
Something attached to his thigh would be a nice asymmetrical touch (spellbook or an alchemist pouch), and what about his circlet on his waist? I think those two items will give him some more life.
