Well, this days I have been working a bit on a fantasy style sword model:

- Overall the model, except the blade is finished, which is something I am looking at now, since the point is not very good.
- I setup a background with lights:  an orange "mood" light, sun spot, rim, main and background lights, but I am aware that I might need to adjust them a bit .
- All texture/material done by myself.

This is the texture I made for the hilt, I know, the current image did not allow to see it clearly.

I think this is a good start, however, everything is very low poly and clean.

What type of looking were you going for? What is the intended use for this? Is it for a mobile title or are you thinking this is more for a higher end title? Is it suppose to be heavily stylized or more realistic?

    Thanks!
The concept for the model is more for portfolio and training. Also, the sword itself is meant to be a mid term between slight realistic and slight stylized - so far I am trying to kept it simple, but now that you mention that is look very low poly, I maybe experiment and develop more the model. The wooden block is just meant to have the sword be atop of something and not just in the ground where the backdrop is.

to make it more high poly you could had more to the edges of the sword and the wood piece so its not as sharp looking.

I see, thanks! I remade the point of the blade, which looks a lot better and now I am looking on the edges.
