still have a bit to do, not sure how to tackle the fur.. this will be retopologized to 7500 tris.. thoughts? (will be working fabric tomorrow, those strips are placeholders).. mm strips, chicken strips sound good right now...
You don't need to post new threads when you're updating a WIP, @diglett
Make his deltoids huge and more as one mass. He's a very top heavy character, and that's not quite coming through as much with your sculpt. Exaggerate it even, because it will be easier to pull back from too large a proportion than to inch towards the right one.
I think what Brian meant was that you should update the first thread with more in progress work, rather then starting a new one (Ie in this case you would have updated the one you made on the 26th)
@Brian yeah it is, the recruiter I spoke with about the character art test seemed like it was a close call for me to get the internship so I thought I'd give this a shot. Here is the modifications I've made from your top heavy comment. Still really need feedback on how to tackle the fur, should I just make a lot of poly strips and add the fur once I've retopologized this model?
You're going to want to do 1-bit alpha cards to do the fur.
You're going to dig for the previous character art tests that have been done for Arenanet. A lot of the same techniques and technical solutions are being asked of this creature NPC, presumably.
Right so make polystrips and add transparency with an alpha map to the uv islands designated as fur.. how many strips do you think would be needed for the arm fur?.. 10 enough? that will take up about 200 tris and I only have 7500 to work with and the body will probably take up about 3-4k tris
