Hello everyone. So I just uncovered the news (sorry if I'm late) of MDL materials and iRay rendering inside Substance Designer. I had no idea what either of those things are, so I did some research and it looks amazing.
I do have questions though: I'm an environment artist (student) and I work on video games. Can MDL materials work in game engines such as: Unreal, Unity, etc. etc.? What about games in VR? Is it viable? Performance cost vs typical PBR?
These are probably noob questions, but I'm having a hard time finding the information; it seems pretty scarce. I would love someone to explain it to me like a 5 year old (maybe I should check Reddit too on that note...)
