UPDATE #1 Going to focus on the interior of a sci-fi, art-deco apartment, with large windows looking out towards the city skyline. Loving the way that day Deus ex mixes unique sci-fi concepts with historical buildings, so will be looking quite closely at how its done in that.
Here is some modelling progress towards two of the exterior buildings...
and the currently blocked out scene built in UE4...
A few finished prop assets and more detailed block out. Had some fun with the XMD Deco trim brushes, will definitely find more use for them as I go on!
UPDATE #3 Been pretty quiet recently, my environment was getting a bit too large for the amount of time I have, so just focusing on the desk area now with a police / detective theme going on.
I guess David is an aggressive caller ta. Just finished the last main asset, now just gotta figure out a good comp and try and get the lighting looking good.
Still cant really decide on my composition, but I think the lighting is coming along nicely. With the deadline extension I am goanna try to get in some more vfx like dust particles and god rays
Thanks for the advice everyone, calling this finished
THE STORY: David Darello was the best cop in New York City before falling through an inter-dimensional rip in time & space during the raid of a laboratory belonging to some tyrannical entrepreneur.
Finding himself trapped in an alternate New York City, David drinks away his days, working in the extraterrestrial crimes bureau, separated from his family and friends. In a new world with almost 100 years of technological advancement to his own, he holds on to the few memories he can from his previous life.
On one particularly hungover morning, after falling asleep as his desk, David awakes, shielding his eyes from the blinding light. A warm feeling engulfs him...

Here's another small update. Hopefully I have time to finish a couple more assets I had planned, and then polish everything up a bit!
I especially love the rug, it looks so swank. Nice work!
