Hi guys,
May as well make this into my improvement thread where I post my current and finished projects. Hopefully, I'll be able to learn a great deal through this process. I'll mostly be posting Maya stuff as that's what I'm most familiar with at the moment. Sculpts will potentially be posted in the near future as I'm still trying to get my head around ZBrush's interface. Regarding rendering software, I know nothing other than that it exists in the form of Marmoset Toolbag and Keyshot. If anyone can clue me in to what's the most useful/easy to learn I'd appreciate it.
I'm relatively new to 3D modelling so any critiques or helpful tips are welcome.
For this guy I'm aiming for the likeness of this character but I couldn't quite get it. Would it be easier to start from scratch (since I'm also planning to fix the UV's) or alter the mesh I already have with a sculpting program like Mudbox? My end goal is to do a high poly sculpt then retop to low poly with hand painted textures.
Cheers.

I'm aiming to hand-paint this to try to distance myself from the hand-holding that Substance Painter gives me when texturing, it also allows me to learn a new program in 3D Coat.
