how to start on enviorment art?

I'm ballz deep into modeling, but  now I want to expand myself,  I love enviorment art as well.
I really don't know technical aspects of it.

Would you recommend me any gumroad tutorial, book, video, anything related to improving my skills on this field?
I'm intersted on texturing and mats.

Our wiki has a bunch of good material. Just start digging in, and most importantly make things to test out the tutorials. Ypu learn best when digging in and making art. Don't delay!

The best i can recommend is making smaller props and then creating a small scale scene out of it. I was afraid to take on environments when i first started, but you need to disect it all into smaller parts instead of looking at the big picture!
