The sculpture is going to be inspired by the statue above, however I think I'll make him keep the pillars up by chains wrapped around his wrists/hands, he's also going to have a different pose and anatomy. It'll be 9 heads high and not meant for a game which means it'll not look crappy. Aside from the proportions I'll aim to make the anatomy as realistic as possible that's why I'm making a thread this early because I think I'll benefit from your critiques.
I've started to block out the proportions and shapes, not much to comment on yet.

Ok created the face and merged it with the body, it's not done but it's good for now. Next is getting a decent base topology, currently the bottom subdivision is a decimated mesh. -_-
Made the chains, next is having the hands properly wrap around the chains, notice how the steps are made for mortals.
