Here is the first piece of work going on here, it's a monotone sketch of a waterfall , any tips would be amazing on how i could improve and make the white look more like water just by using black&white
Also I would love feedback on what I can do to improve as an artist in general or any critique is appreciated.

Whilst I had a spare period i quickly made a sword and tried to texture it although most of it is in block colours. Any tips for helping texture, like from going on one face to another, how do you manage to keep lines that go from one face to another straight, because on my sword they were

Here is a work in progress of what I've done so far, I'm creating a fireplace with a harry potter like theme so you can stand in it and be taken to different places. Only a few bits done at the moment, planning on modeling a bit more before i try to texture it.
