Pretty simple actually, messed around with the attribute editor with a 3D container. Enabled animation, to give it a nice flow. The water was a just an enabled animation material with low transparency. And the foliage didn't animate as well as I wanted them to. But I was happy with the outcome, surprising how much realism you can accomplish with the paint effects in maya with a change of material.
The sky is cool, but the wall itself lacks detail. Just having the same texture repeat for the length of the wall without any visible variation doesn't make it very appealing and gives it the obvious 3D look we all try to avoid.
