The
Junior Video Designer’s job at
Antimatter Games is to assist and support current video staff with projects, by managing footage, creating shots, working on edits and designing graphics. To this end the Junior Video Designer must be able to digitally create videos to a high standard, with a focus on the production and implementation of Motion Graphics as part of larger projects created at Antimatter.
Applicants must be able to work well as part of a team, be able to work independently on tasks, and fit quickly into a busy office environment. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic and a passion for our industry. A keen interest and understanding of a wide variety of video games and film is essential, as is some knowledge of post-production workflow.
As a part of the application process, applicants will be required to complete a skills test where they will undertake a short video project to illustrate their abilities.
Example Duties:
* Assisting the video department with the creation and implementation of motion graphics
* Recording and editing video footage using in-engine tools for a variety of video games
* Creating pre-production materials, such as storyboards and animatics, for video projects
* Undertaking administrative tasks pertaining to video work, including file naming, organisation and categorisation, data management, etc.
* Rotoscoping and preparing footage for graphical effects artists
Essential Skills:
* Clearly demonstrated fundamental video composition and design ability
* Proficiency and working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Principally Premiere, AfterEffects, Encoder and Illustrator)
* Proficiency in an editing suite
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* A creative mindset, able to envision original and exciting ideas
* A deep and thorough understanding of video games and the industry
Desirable Skills:
* Strong knowledge of motion graphic design
* Ability to create pre-production material and to communicate and plan ideas, such as storyboarding and sketching
* Experience working to a brief and following instruction quickly and precisely
* Experience creating content inside game engines and/or videos about games
