So I have a model from ages ago and I thought I'd re-texture it. The obj loads into Maya absolutely fine, I can unwrap it just fine too.
However, when I come to laying out the UVs using the 'layout UVs' tool, it goes mental, throwing my shells all over the place and disappearing some entirely!
First, I deleted all history - nothing. Then I exported as OBJ and re-imported into a fresh scene - nothing. Then I tried it in Max - nothing. So I then placed all the shells individually and exported which seemed to work only now, when I try and load the model in xNormal or Substance, it just hangs on 'importing' or 'analysing mesh' so it is obviously corrupt...
Does anyone know a fix for this?
(I also tried re-projecting all the UVs which didnt work either)
