How do I unwrap that?

Hi, I would love to know how I could optimally unwrap something like that, a helix based leather wrap:



I have been stitching and stitching for quite some time now and it doesn't seem that I will be able to finish that this way anytime soon.

So I would appreciate any form of help or types of tips! Thanks!

Unfold from strip should do the trick. Just delete all the backfacing geo that you don't need.

Also you might have to break it into several islands for packing.

how did you do this leather wrap? if you used splines you can easiely use the "Generate Mapping Coords." function in the edit spline tab.
