Hi! I'm an animation student in Uruguay, currently I'm doing this career mainly because of the lack of anything related to what I want to focus on, 3d art, more specifically character modeling.
I'm starting to learn 3DsMax, but I love
Zbrush
too much, so this is what I'm currently doing con
Zbrush.
This is the first time I show my art on public, I'm really shy about it, but I want to improve, and I really need to know where to aim to improve my faults. So please, be sincere.
Thanks a lot for reading.
I'd sculpt from an existing reference and aim for a specific render target. There's promise here, but a lot of the sculpts feel like the lack purpose or clear direction.

What do you mean sculpting from an existing reference, like an existing 3d model from artstation? And you're right, I just play on it like im playing on mud. But I try to respect as much as I can the anatomy, also I dont know much about rendering and how it affects the model. I love this, I really do, but I'm new and kinda lost sometimes. What should I focus on?
Thanks a lot for taking your time to answer. You guys are righ, I should use reference more often, but it's hard to respect them some times, lol. anyways, thanks again. And looking forward for more answers! cheers
I would say if you're taking anatomy courses, you're on the right track. Before you start tackling monsters, I would try and solidify your anatomy and proportion knowledge as best you can. Everything will fall in place after that. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your time to answer. Just saw your artstation, you're damn good man, really like your stuff!
Also, this sculpts are in cronological order, so the first one (the golem) looks pretty bad, I can notice that now. The first one is 3 months from now, and the "eyeless" monster is from last week. PS: I'll follow all the advices on focusing on anatomy and references, thank you all!
Long time no see, I've finished building my first pc!!! (and I've learned how to render) so you'll see a lot of stuff from me now, hope I'm not causing any trouble. Any comments would be appreciated!
This one's a low poly, this days I'll be uploading characters (with improved anatomy since last time and stuff)
