Problem with Intuos 3 in Substance Painter

I'm still rocking an Intuos 3 and regularly the cursor goes nuts inside of substance painter.
Think painting while riding a jetski, it jumps up and down left and right...
After a minute or two it stops but starts again eventually.
This only happens in painter, not in other tools like photoshop and only when loaded a project.
I already reinstalled my wacom driver a few times, so they are up to date.
When I switch to mouse input the cursor behaves normal again.
Is this a known problem with Intuos 3? Or am I the only one?

That's actually the version I am using myself.
Positive side of this: if it keeps occurring, I at least have an excuse to get a newer model
