Hey guys, I've been wanting to try designing something from scratch for a while, so here is a something I've always wanted that nobody makes. A smart phone with a large sensor and an interchangeable lens mount. The little grip comes off, and I'm going to model a few lenses to go with it too.
I'm working directly with the highpoly here and probably won't bake it down to low, perhaps I'll do some basic uving and texture work directly on the high, which will probably be enough for the clean product render style I'm going for. Rendered in Toolbag 3 of course.
My initial sketch:
For the design I'm riffing on a few existing products, namely:

The Samsung NX mini mount could theoretically be used, I'm not sure what the flange distance is (distance from sensor to point plane) but it's probably one of the shortest of any camera system.
Side benefit of cameras with short flanges, you can use adapters to attach pretty much any lens for any camera system on it.
So do you feel the body is finished and all that is left is the lenses? Or are you going to mock up some branding to style it out too?
@samifira, I'm using modo, here are some wires:

Wow!
The naming of things, materials finished up, and some work on a different lighting setup:
Edit: Thank you for branding it
@malcolm, I colored the spec and am using Newton's rings as well. Download the material here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/499159/glass.tbmat
