3ds max, vray - how make brighter shadows

Hello guys, 
i'm newb and i'm making my first interior archviz render, i want to make shadows a bit softer and more brighter, but i don't know how, i was trying to find soultion in google, but i wasnt able to do that, can you help me? By increasing size multiplayer and by reducing intensity multiplier i made shadows a bit softer, but still, its not effect i want get.

    more lights is the easiest way... i would place an area light behind the camera...
    if you start to fake things you will end up with a non real looking image... 

    and i would place a white sphere + macbeth card in the room...
    the white sphere should be 200 200 200 rgb... maybe the sun isnt bright enough... and without a whiteball you never know...
