I have a uv map that I generated using unfold3d from maya. The uv's look great dont get me wrong so there is no technical uv problem. However, I am trying to take a 2d image in photoshop and make it fit the curves (flow) of the uv's. I will upload a picture of the uv's with a red line to show you what I mean exactly. Does anyone know of any warping method in photoshop or any 3d painting software to help counteract this?

You can try the free transform tool inside photoshop to distort the image and follow the curves. Simply choose the free transform tool then click on the button on the top right corner to enable warp modes. Then you'll have some control points to warp the image. It can generate some distortion, though.

You could also copy the model, straighten out the UVs, texture the straightened model, and then use transfer maps in maya to transfer the diffuse color onto the UVs of the old model.
