Hi, i havent posted much on here and should really start posting work in progress work to get feedback as i go.
With this project I wanted to improve my speed at completing assets from start to finish. Taking an existing product or concept piece so i didnt have to worry too much about designing it as i go, and making a high poly mesh, baking it down to the low poly, texturing it and rendering it out as a game ready model.
I gave myself roughly a working day 8 - 9 hours to complete the Gameboy Colour game ready asset.
I just about did it, but not to the quality i would have liked. There are a few areas that i would like to improve, or redo completely, but as i was just giving myself a 1 day challenge i dont want to go back yet and edit it in any way.
I want to push forward and start work on my next one, and just keep this going until i have improved my modelling and texturing speed. After which I will try to increase the scale of the assets that i work on, and keep a theme to them so that in the end they form a small scene.
Let me know what you think, all feedback helps develop my future projects.
The polycount was at 355, i forgot to add that to the images.

The cartridge could do with some softening of it's edges, unless it's really not going to be seen as close as you have it pictured currently.
I like the challenge though, tackling something like this in one day is impressive. Well done!
Kohg: I have mostly worked on environments, and spent quite a bit of time on them, so trying to see how quickly i could model some assets individually will hopefully help me in trying to get a job, as i can give examples of work done in a set timeframe.
Nerono: I have sorted out the pinching now, just couldnt sort it at the time, it just kept getting worse as i edited it, so i edited the normal instead in photoshop.
Marshkin: I didnt bake from a high poly cartridge, just used NDO for that as it was a last minute addition. I will look at improving it if i use it as a prominent piece in my very work in progress Pokemon Level. But at the moment it will just be a little easter egg to spot in the screenshots or video.
