Howdy everyone, figured it'd be a fine time to start a thread here after lurking for quite a while now.
I recently completed an Advanced Diploma of professional Game Development (Specializing in art and animation) with AIE, so I'm now just trying to get my portfolio and skills to where they need to be. To that end, any advice and criticism is very much appreciated.
I'll start by showing my recent endeavors and as such this first page is going to be a fair bit longer than likely anything else posted here, firstly a revolver, vaguely inspired by borderlands and destiny, based on the Italian Mateba Autorevolver - I'm relatively happy with how it is, but I still feel it can be improved further.
Secondly, an attempt at recreating a room I found on Google images in UE4 - it still needs a lot of work, and I'm having a lot of issues getting glass to work in UE4. The textures were also pretty rushed at the time and need improvement and the lighting needs work.
And thirdly a futuristic subway station blockout, just for fun.

Still chugging along, Emissive maps have blown out all the lighting. Will either adjust the lighting accordingly or work the displays into the Albedo maps instead.
Went a tad further with the August Environment/Prop challenge asset.
Removed the majority of emissive maps and lights to just focus on getting all the materials working well, then building the lighting around them. Also added bins and added textures to the large wall displays. At the moment I think it is the actual platform texture that is stopping the scene from coming together.
Went over with a final pass to make it portfolio ready.
