Hi, so i'm planning on buying a macbook pro as i've seen alot of artists using it and it has alot of good reputation. I know that a desktop pc is much stronger but these years i will be moving around alot so a laptop is more helpful.
So i want to know your opinions and what would you guys recommend (I use my 3d softwares for concept art so i wont be doing any fancy renders and high detailed stuff) so yeah let me guys know what you think, i would really use some help.
Thanks alot.

Your thread title doesn't really reflect what you are looking for. You say its for 3d and then in your post you say its concept art. So I guess you block out in 3d and then paint over. Anyways, getting that thing is not really a good idea in my opinion. These devices rarely comes with enough memory and good video card because they are usually targeted torwards regular users. Get a decent video card and you'll need some memory for PS. Such a laptop usually goes around 1-2k $ at least so you might be better getting a desktop or at least a gaming laptop- depending on how much money you want to spend.

an MBP is expensive kit as far as laptops go but it's a nice machine overall, with a decent OS, plenty of available apps and is built well and should last. the sort of 3D you are probably going to do for concepting is something it should be able to handle with ease (well, mine does handle that type of stuff any way).

if you are looking strictly at the price tag and specs of individual parts then there will always be better offers elsewhere. apple doesn't compete on that front.

one thing the current day MBP does not offer and that may be relevant is a proper anti glare display. also i think even the newest models are not sealed against liquids so you can kiss it goodbye straight away if you spill your latte over the keyboard...
btw. it's also mostly not upgradeable anymore so you better make sure you get the right configuration from the get-go.

MacBooks  are pretty nice hardware and very durable if they're something you're going to be taking places, my 2012 is still going strong and has been halfway round the world. However, my 2012 is also the last macbook they made where users could replace the hard-drive and upgrade the RAM. That's not the case anymore, as @thomasp mentioned. If you can afford the overpriced RAM upgrade, do it now.

However, I wouldn't recommend buying Apple hardware right at the minute, as the entire MacBook line is long-overdue for a refresh. You'd be paying a premium price for tech that's already a year old. If you can, wait till the fall and see if there's a hardware refresh.
