The 3d mockup looks very generic and not that interesting as a character. It doesn't match the more-interesting proportions of the Taoist concept... tapered shoulders, scale of the head, etc.
Context matters a lot, as do color choices in the character. What would the environment look like? Do you have style references from other games?
How does the character look at the target resolution and angle?
