About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the biggest brands in games, delivering groundbreaking experiences for our players.
The Senior Technical Artist will help bridge the gap between art and code. As a technical artist you will help build internal art processes and guide asset pipeline implementation in collaboration with the rest of the studio, as well as drive the art quality of our products.
The candidate should be a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for creating quality games. They should be comfortable working in a variety of environments and have a deep understanding of the techniques used in game development.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Art and Code teams to implement and improve the game aesthetically and game performance.
- Understand and assist in the creation and implementation of a wide range of game assets.
- Pipeline planning/implementation and optimisation (includes 3rd party and proprietary tools) for the art team.
- Understand and optimise the game from an art perspective.
- Understand the basics of art relevant code and design within the game.
- Assist with asset rigging, animation, in-game lighting and shaders.
- Participate in R&D of new techniques and implement into the production pipeline
Requirements
- Candidates will ideally have 4+ years of experience working on PC, console, handheld or mobile gaming platforms.
- A passion for games and game visuals.
- Knowledge of a range of techniques for specialising 3D packages, such as scripts, plug-ins and existing software.
- Understand of C++ / C# an advantage
- Understanding of shader languages an advantage
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively.
