Hey everyone, it's been over 3 years since I posted anything, so it has been a while! I got a day job as an illustrator that has kept me busy so I had a long time where I was only working on 3d when time permitted from paying the bills. Lately I started making more time for sculpting because I enjoy it so much and wanted to add some peices to my portfolio, so here I am looking for feedback and critique to better my skills.

Enough of the reintroduction! Here is the current model I'm working on, a horse study.  I'm going for a bit more realism to better my understanding of horse anatomy so I spent a lot of time looking at various types of horses and breeds. I was also going for a bit of a horse primitive to build different breeds out of later so I went with a bit of a collage of different horses to find a bit of a middle road and looking for general anatomy. As far as plans I was wanting to refine the legs and muscles a bit more for definition, as well as sculpting the hooves and hair more since those are just temp for now while I focus on the body. Eventually I want to take this into Substance Painter to texture. Thanks for taking a look and I appreciate any comments or critiques!

    Looks good so far :)
though there are some things that you do.. to improve it even more.
Like the back part , it's a bit too high up..
"the ass" should be more on the same height as the shoulder: seen on here :

Thessera -  Thanks for your feedback!  "The ass" has since been dropped, it was way too high you're right. I also think I put too much of a dip in the back, I've been going back and forth with that while I work on other problem areas.

Here's an update of the progress, not a ton but a bit more definition in the legs and some anatomy corrections.  I'm thinking I went too exaggerated in certain areas so I'm pulling some of the definition back a bit in places like where the front legs meet the chest and so on. I also still need to work on the hooves, they don't look and feel like they compress like real hooves so that's a priority. I think the mane and tail will wait until I'm happy with the main body, ready to pose it and start on asymmetrical details.
