I'm a game art student in a class where I spend the entire quarter making a portfolio worthy outdoors environment in Unreal Egine. This is the first week, and I've decided to make an abandoned city. Not destroyed, but definitely a scene in a state of abandon and disrepair. I'm trying to channel a lot of Silent Hill into it.

At this stage I've finished a productivity timeline to manage each step of the process without getting swamped. Thus far I've made a 2D and 3D mockup, gathered reference images, and determined the three main camera shots for the demo video.

(EDIT) Here's my reference sheet

(Always looking for more references that would bring more life to the scene and ultimately capture the aesthetic and tone of the level)

It's not much now but through the comings weeks I intend to flesh out the scene much more.

Comments/Criticism are welcome and beneficial to my work at any point throughout my 11 week process.

Looking forward to seeing progress. Not much to say right now since its all so preliminary.

Prefer to see images directly posted here though rather than remotely hosted. Imgur takes forever to load over my connection.

I was also having trouble with imgur a bit recently as well... I thought it was just issues with my browser but my siblings have been telling me its probably imgur.

I haven't made much process as of yet, since I had to get some other assignments out of the way, and now I can focus more on working on my scene. Im going to focus much more on putting together the scene now. I was able to at least get some texture samples for repeatable things within my scene. My teacher also requested that the scene be changed from an abandoned city to an abandoned rail station, because he felt it would better compliment what I was trying to do. That also is the reason why there was a bit of a slowdown, cause I had to replan all of that.
