Almost done with the high poly now. What's the best way to do the etching on the base above the trigger guard? Should I do it in Zbrush or just add it later in Substance Painter?
For fine detailing, I would just throw it Substance or NDo. I find the process faster and easier on my hardware than pumping the model resolution up enough to properly display the etching.
Thanks guys! Got some time to get back to working on this. Pretty much done with baking. Here's what it looks like with a test bake and some materials thrown on.
Looking great so far man! The bake came out great too. I'm sure you're still working it. Definitely work on the wood texture, I feel like the wood could be tiled a little bit more, then give it that reddish brown tint that cherry wood has and increase the height or normals a pinch. The roughness for the wood could also be turned down a notch too, it's a bit glossier in the reference.
@Kn5743Wow thats so facking good man! nice! Hope its not off putting, but maybe the wood is a little too dry or something, thats the only thing holding it back from being a million/10 lol

Also almost done with the high poly now. Just have a few more things and the screws.
What artifacts do you see ?
What material/how did u do the glass for the scope ?
@AXEL Thanks! I just used a super reflective dark material for the scope and then added some dirt around the edges.
