You can do it with standard tools but it's a lot easier with scripts.
I use this one:

@eltarbos What do you mean by standard tools? Like doing and arranging it manually? Is there a way that I could insert shapes like stitches along the curve or edges without using the script? By the way, the scripts looks awesome. Thanks a lot.

The standard tools are motion path and flow path object. It works but the process is really painfull.
