Hello everybody. I am 25 and just finished my masters and I am pushing myself hard for the next 3 months to get a good portfolio now. I know however working in a small study group is a great benefit to pushing yourself. There are so many benefits. You learn from each other, you make new connections which is important, gives you a experience working in team and breaks out of your confidence. The idea being to set targets and to show work together and have deadlines. Give each other feedback and have a good portfolio at the end. I would prefer people that are in similar situation as me. Not people still just starting out but people want to break the industry. Anybody interested let me know.

Yes true, but I want more to help each other, the challenges are good but you never get feedback, plus you give the added pressure of letting each other down when you slack off one day. it just an idea to get a more close one to one helping each other.

Really ? I see tons of feedback in the Character Challenges. And when someone posts an update, I'm actually pressured to post mine too (unless the months I'm not participating.)

    But to each his own.

For the past year or maybe a little longer, I've had a weekly hangout session with another artist to do critiques, discuss projects, the industry, workflows etc.

its been great for me, and I would suggest it to everyone. I imagine you have to be very careful who you pick though, and I would keep it small, 1 or 2 people at most. Choose an artist at or near or just above your skill level, who you mesh with well, and be flexible.

Okay, fair enough. I will try and get more into them then. I just think it better with someone go through the same stuff so hopefully, there is the trust and more honesty I guess.  All the big artist do it so I thought it might be better. I just dont have anyone I know in the same boat as me that is all
