Oftentimes it's necessary to deviate from the 2d concept somewhat in order to ground the 3d counterpart in reality. As it is now I wouldn't like to even take a walk in that armour, let alone do battle. You should make some design choices to allow for movement.

true i thought that one, but my choise was to be closest to manga, but in the end once all the armor parts are complete i might do some changes
Very cool looking so far! The reference is pretty hard to judge but I´d say that the armor plate for the thigh is actually connected and not a seperate piece. Also on his left leg it would flow more towards the inside above the knee. The armor on his right thigh looks a little bit different from the left. Don´t know if it is intentional.

its not the only refence i am using for the armors i use couple more, hmm they are mirrored i dunno i cant see it if you could paint over on the part that looks wrong i will take a better look at it
To clarify for the people who think he wouldn't be able to move and stuff... The armour is magical (cursed actually). It gives zero fucks about things like that. It would literally break the wearer's bones in order to make them move properly.
the armor can manifest and change itsfelf like the venom from spiderman, also if you read the manga you can clearly see when guts uses the armor, he gets injured by it his whole body bleeds till hes almost dead, the person who wears the armor is cursed and cant feel the pain
personaly i am realy glad by the results so far, its been sometime since i spent atleast 30 hours on a model, btw its not yet complete gonna polypaint next hope u like it
btw i made a spesific material for the armor if u like it i could share it Note this material will not be included in the bake its just for the zbrush render i used only zbrush and zbrush alone for everything i make Armours: basic retopology once i sculpted a basic base, most of the times i dont make a basic base i just go directly for the retopology to make the shape (a piece of an armour) then once the piece has its basic shape close to the concept art, i try to match it as much as possible with the concept art by moving points with move tool, then when i have the desired shape of the armour piece i chose the zmodeler brush, and i crease the edges i want to look sharp, note first i add bevel all on edges for better sharp look, then i add sharp on the edges i want, and then i hit couple of times the subdivision levels, if i dont like the results i retopologize again on the exzisting piece of armour i just made to aproach further more the shape, then repeat again with zmodeler, for example the head took me 3 times this step to succed my point of view for its shape, sorry for bad gramar
Armour looks sick and the bakes came out looking good, i like it... but.. I feel like you've rushed to finish it man, and it's hurt the quality. I'm gonna rip into you here not because i want to be mean but because i feel like this could be a way stronger piece.
Firstly, there's no story to that metal at all. There's no grit or detail to the texture, it's just black. It looks factory fresh and the uniform edge wear you do have lends it a really fake kind of feel. I can see you painted it but it looks like you ran it through an edge find filter. Guts is fighting demons constantly, he'd be covered in small dings and scratches and whatnot as well. Same on the sword, it's too clean looking. There's no texture to the metal, no nicks or dings in the blade at all. You could push the textures SO much further and make it really shine. Also, given that he's posessed (which only happens during battle), you could throw a little gore on the
armor and the sword. But if you do be careful not to overdo it.
On the pose, i don't think it fits the personality of guts especially while he's posessed by the armor. You have him resting the sword on his shoulder, his body language looks calm, relaxed, but his face is contorted into a huge snarl. They are fighting eachother. Give him a more crazed pose like a pose from the manga when he's fighting, or just something a little more dynamic (like the figure you were referencing earlier in the thread) and it'll work much better.
Lastly, personally, i would ditch the screaming face texture that's
pasted all over the sword. I see what you were going for but it tiles
like crazy, looks super flat (the normals don't really work) and just comes off
as lazy. If you wanted to do that then i think you should sculpt the faces yourself and make
the whole thing unique, with geo in the lowpoly to support the shapes. IMO though,
don't, just make it true to the manga. It's meant to look like a giant
hunk of iron, that's the whole point
That's my 2c anyway. I really feel like you could push this so much further man, but it's up to you. Kudos on getting this far

i know you are right i know u are not trying to be mean, yes i know i should have added scratches dirt and stuff, but my time is limited i will rework on it sometime and post here again, btw the posing is big pain since i have to place every armor piece in a position, i was thinking to make a pose when he is crouching
A lot of the scratching is incredibly uniform, like... all edges everywhere must have a scratched off line. where are the actual combat scratches, wear and tear? where is the variation along the edges?

i have diferent variation of textures with scratches so its not the final choise yet the main problem now is why some normals are turned black

i might make his legs a litle longer what do you think?
I'd say work on the sword a bit more, the pattern on the middle section seems to repeat a little too much for me.
