Hey all. working on a new hobby project over the next few months just to keep me busy. I made a TIE interceptor a couple years ago and thought it would be fun to recreate it in a more modern day satellite visual style.
What I've got so far. about half way done with the mesh.
Here's some of the reference I'm using.
And some of the inspiration I'll use for the composition. Artwork by Mac Rebisz, Brad Wright, Benjamin Bulidon, and Fred Gambino(images taken from artstation)

JoshuaG: I'm working on a cockpit, but I don't expect it'll be very visible in the render.
SimãoSilva : mainly maya, but also max and zbrush for specific things like path deform/shell/dynamesh
Thanks Shrike. maybe! If the renders turn out to be a bit busy though the flat surfaces might be a relief to my eyeballs.
Just playing with a render in Nuke. Not even close to final materials. Still need to thin out the wings and make the top+bottom hatches. also the atmosphere and ion trail
thanks snap.crackle.pop
Rmlambert: It's just viewport 2.0 with some lights in the scene.
