I have here with me a more or less complete trebuchet model, but I'm not sure of the optimal method of rigging it. I want the ropes in the bottom left to move as realistically as possible during launch. The central beam, axles, and counterweight are all linked without any MassFX modifiers

The ropes and sling have an mCloth on them, and the little metal fittings/rings at either end of them are dynamic MassFX Rigid bodies. But the ropes go insane if i run the simulation while animating firing the trebuchet. Those green lines are supposed to be constraints. I also don't know why the sling down there isn't moving from the base, it's linked and constrained all the way up.

I should also mention that this is my first time using MassFX, and I have no idea how MassFX objects are supposed to interact with non-MassFX objects during animation time etc etc.
Basically it's possible that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong here, so please correct me if I am

Thanks
