Hi all.
I am currently using Maya and i am having issues where i get lag in the view port. My GPU is GTX 680 which is an old card that i have had for awhile.
The viewport lag starts at about 300k tris on the openGL setting whivh is under display, but when i change to OpenGL-Core Profile i can have 2-4million tris without any lag at all but it disables my other options for view ports.
After i read alot of posts and information on sites regarding that the older cards were somewhat limited and lead to issues for 3D applications so i am not sure what to do.
So i am wondering if i should upgrade to a 1060-1080 now or wait for the 1080TI version which might be out this year?
Or should i mod my current card gtx 680 to a Quadro by messing around with the resistors?
For Money wise i am limited a bit as i will have to save more for the better cards but i am wanting some form of input before i make any decisions since i cant upgrade very often.
Thanks
