Complex bake

Hi!

I was wondering, how would you guys put this in the game engine. Those curved leaves are an absolute pain. Would you bake the whole thing or each leaf separately? I'm trying to get to a reasonable polycount right now with this model and it doesn't look good.

I would probably make it a closed mesh, not pieces. Then just follow the shillouette. 
It looks mainly cylindrical with the leaves sticking out, so I would only have those parts sticking out, and being combined into a cylinder.

That's one way to do it. Bake is not 100% fine. Some stretching on the sticking out parts.

When I last had to do one of these roman columns I just slightly adapted the design to fit the low poly better. If you want it to be accurate you'll spend lots of tris.
