Hello everyone. I have been doing a lot of 4k gaming lately (and loving it!!) But it it got me thinking about the optimal workflow for getting the best performance and highest fidelity when creating my own levels. I Know the basics about creating game art but there has been some different ways of creating stuff lately with new games and I don't want to be going down the wrong path. The best performance at 4k for me was doom 4. I have been trying to look at there workflow but it has been hard to find any info. I also read a whole heap about the workflow for star citizen and Alien isolation with the medium poly decal route and it looked really interesting, but there is very little info about working this way using UE4 (which is my preferred engine).
Any info or links to tutorials would be really appreciated if anyone knows of any?

Have you looked into modular workflows? This is one of the key elements of high-res game environment workflow.

Tiled textures are also key.
