"Build up your island into a supreme military base while planning out your crushing offensive.

Once nuclear ICBM's come into play, prepare for an

It's been about 11 years since I started learning game development. I've
worked as a programmer on Killing Floor
2, The Sims, Madden, Tiger Woods. I'm finally at the point where I really want to finish something. I've been putting in about 30 hrs a week on this project. It is all in-house game engine from
scratch. Right now I'm doing all the art and programming. I'm going to use this thread to post any visual updates I have.

****Almost all of these models are going to stay in an unfinished state. I have to build a game so until I hit alpha I simply don't have time to polish everything to a final state**

artwise, it feels really generic right now. There's already plenty of WW2 RTS (even one made with springrts) out there so maybe try to put an original art direction to your props?
I'm a programmer, naturally the fun of this is coding, but I like doing art as well. The game is actually pretty close to alpha, this is just a shot of the units. I have a ton of work already done and I can tell you that having my own engine allows me to finish code tasks at least 50x quicker than working in someone elses codebase.

Art direction in what sense? I'm pretty set on having realistic and modern looking units. If I have a successful kickstarter, there is a good chance I will buy art from a 3rd party.
