After I saw a very sweet version of a "smear frame" 3D effect on Twitter, as made popular by those awesome Overwatch animations, I thought I'd have a go at recreating it. And since I love you all, you can have it for free!
If you're curious how this effect is achieved, or just want to use it, you can download the project on GitHub: https://github.com/LuggLD/SmearFrame
There are a few tweakable settings, such as the scale of the noise used for modulation, velocity treshold before smearing occurs, or the angle treshold for smearing. The latter can also lead to interesting variations, such as a full object smear:
Could someone take a screenshot of the material function and blueprint? We're working with Unity3D and I'll see if it is something I can port. I might need to install UE4 and have a look for myself, but maybe not
This is so cool I just had to try and recreate it on Unity. A pretty rough attempt but this effect is super cool.

You're amazing, I love you. I've wondered about something like this but hadn't gotten around to investing the time. You have saved me so much trouble and taught me so much.
I am trying to replicate the effect in Unity3D but have some problems with how to actually deform the mesh. Maybe some of you wizards here can share some light on that matter?

Thanks for the share!
I try my best to make things dummy-proof, hehe.
Edit: Nvm, somebody already made it for Unity
