Hi everyone
Haven't posted to the forum in awhile but I wanted to show some personal side work I've been finishing up last week.
I did this model of a female Twi'lek after playing around with different clothing concepts. I chose to do a Twi'lek mostly because of their distinctive appearance. Costume and character is original design. The boots are loosely based off of Star Lord's from Guardians of the Galaxy. Final render was done in Marmoset Toolbag.
Here's are the main beauty shots:
Some WIP shots and topology:
Here is a more in depth breakdown of the entire process:
I am still working on some beauty shots but any feedback to improve it is always appreciated.

Also, this is super nice.
Male skull left, female right.
@Brian Panda Choi: For the clothing that has thickness (i.e. collar) I do the retopology directly over the high poly mesh. I find it gives me more control during the baking process.
@Leinadien: You make a good point about the jaw. I never really noticed how thick it was at the bottom. Will definitely get that looked at. I think I understand what you mean about the slugs. Will see about adding creases.
Thanks again guys.
Just for clarification, the retopology wasn't a single plane (over the collar in this instance) mesh, and THEN it was extruded a bit afterwards? But in fact, you directly retopologized the "edge thickness" of the HP?
@Brian Panda Choi: Yes you are correct, I didn't use extrusion for the clothing. If there is an inner part of the clothing exposed (i.e. the inner part of the collar), that is done with retoplogy all in one go. Usually the inner parts of the clothing are less detailed in the wireframe.
I guess that just requires more patience to do. I always been annoyed at the edge lips because they were so thin >< . I don't know if there's a workaround to those (using 3Dcoat).
Thank you!
Here's an update of the character with two new 'main' beauty shots. I've reduced the jawline to give her a more feminine look:
Also gave some extra lighting to make the character stand out more. Comments and feedback always appreciated.
