Hi there, This is the first time I participate to a contest. I am really enthusiast to work on this one because it combines awesome tools and awesome subjects which are artistic and technical.
I first downloaded the package and did a small trip around every place in the scene and I chose six points of view which inspires me and I am going to work on them. Here they are :
I am currently working on the first scene and positioning the props. Lighting and FX are almost done. Below you can find an editor screenshot and notice some texture modifications.
This is also the time to talk a bit about the title which will illustrate my entries : Lost in the cold
I discovered The Courtyard package some time ago and the desert environment, the structure and all the materials created are perfect to illustrate the power of Enlighten.
For this contest I chose to change the environment and switch from hot desert to a cold one. The aim is to play with cold tones, sometime oppose them with hot ones and show a cold and snowy pyramid at different time of day or weather conditions.
Here is one of the entry I'll probably submit. The aim was to play with oppositions like color, ambient, lines and mood without having a bunch of details. I am currently working on other entries which will be revealed soon.
I did several changes but mainly texturing and lighting changes. The next entry will have a totally different mood.
It's so beautiful, but I pretty much had the same idea for one of the shots that I'm working on. Several small lights in the back and a block of light being cast from the stairway entrance, but with pretty much reversed colors and person casting a shadow down the stairway.
@AlexMercer Yeah, I see what you mean you're not the only one @KeiTagura This point of view and opposition construction is classical so it's quite logical if some people comes with same idea. Here are two other screenshots with a complete new atmosphere, I think that you might guess the inspiration. As I am a developer (mainly focused on graphics), I don't have enough modeling or texturing skills to completely change assets, that's why I am mainly focusing on the feeling of the image, the atmosphere and the lighting.
Here is another try for the contest. Doesn't seems to fit well with previous environment but I also wanted to try another kind of ambiance and enjoy myself as this is also one of the main purpose of this contest
Need a bit more work, but I'll try to work a bit more on it to present it as one of the entry.

It's giving me some kind of "winter vault" vibe. The overall Lighting is pretty cool, keep it up

Now it feels like I'm copying you if I continue.
