Here is my modular Sci-fi Environment I have been working on for my portfolio, still early stages but I thought I would post anyway. I will be texturing the scene using Quixel Suite and rendering it in UE4. Any feedback is always welcome.
My goals:
• Medium size Environment
• Modular
• Kitbashing workflow
• Become better at hard surface modelling, PBR and baking normal maps
• Having a breakdown of the scene, polycount, texture sheet
• Video and renders of the Environment in UE4

Here is what I’ve been up too lately
· Experimented with the different patterns for the wall, floor, door and arc wall
· Created the different shapes for my kit bashing library
· Added the various detail to the wall, door, floor and arc wall
· Adjusted the pipes, made them bigger
· Sorted out the cut in the arc wall so it is straight
· model the pattern for the floor piece and added the grill
· Adjusted the pieces to make sure they snap to the grid and objects correctly
At the moment I think my scene is repeating too much. I was thinking of adding another wall piece, as well as adding some unique objects to the scene to break up the modular look.
