A solo game project i'm working on, using unreal engine 4.
Altercore is a cyberpunk game set in space. the game revolves around alien technology that was found on mars and has changed life as we know it. the main character Troy is on a quest to find alien technology and make a prophecy come true. on his travels he will visit earth, mars and a space station in between known as the cluster. the game will feature hack and slash combat similar to devil may cry/God of war. there will be multiple weapon types such as martial arts, katanas, knives and staffs. Troy will have acceses to element based armours that allow him to use special abilities. The player will be able to travel between locations in his/her own personal upgradable fighter ship, making it easy to upgrade armour and weapons by visiting the black market on mars. You will also be able to travel to the sprawl a gigantic mega city on earth that covers most of north America. Troy was exposed to an alien artefact on mars, in the past when he was younger. The artefact is known as the Oct, an eight sided object that when activated on mars, caused the calamity, and metamorphosed half the population of mars, including troy, into the evolved. it is theorised that aliens left this technology for us to help us evolve, and that the oct evolves humans millennia in time. Troy was one of the few evolved to retain his original appearance, he stole the key from the oct and hasn't been seen since. Now on mars a new prophecy is spreading that the devil will come for the oct to reclaim his soul. Troy has heard these rumours and is sent to investigate by the human cybernetic enhancement megacorporation Altercore. he has amazing abilities granted to him due to the exposure to the oct,such as teleportation and the ability to process time faster than a normal human, he can also in moments of duress morph into a master evolved ( the main enemies of the game ) who are people who've been exposed to the alien tech. becoming an evolved also grants him additional strength and speed. The details are still being worked out but that is part of the underlying story. there is more to it than that, but I don't want to spoil the whole thing.
