AWP - very simple NERD skin

I have here a very simple skin parodying the NERF guns that I'm sure we all know. The skin was made for a school assignment, and sadly I didn't have as much time to spend on it as I would've liked. Nevertheless, here is the Diffuse:
Looking back and comparing it to real NERF guns, I feel like I should've used more white. The white parts on NERF guns are transparent, however, so unless I had had more time to spend on the texture and added some actual detail, it won't really look good anyway.

Honestly I had no idea how to use the alpha. I read tutorials and everything, but ingame the scope and barrel would always look terrible, this was the only way the decay actually looked proper, even if the aforementioned parts decayed way too soon. Any tips for that would be much appreciated!
