Need advice on modeling Quadrupeds

Hey everyone,
So I am trying to model Quadrupeds, one in particular that I am struggling with. I am trying to model a Jaguar. I know that a rule of thumb when modeling bipeds is that you would typically add 3 edge loops to the bipeds joints where they will be animated, like elbows, fingers, wrist etc. However, how does it differ when you are preparing a quadruped for animation? What are some things I should consider when modeling it?
