Hey so I've been fiddling around in Blender for a week or so and have created my first semi original 3D model. I was hoping some of you could take a look and point out any large flaws to improve on for my next model.
So I present to you! A robot dog...
any feedback would be great, as i said first real attempt.

Another render from an angle would be better. Just a suggestion - I think for your next model try to model something off a reference so you get proportions and pick up other ideas. Every artist picks something up from someone or something else he has seen. Wireframes would also help.

The way I render out wireframes in blender is to duplicate the whole model in object mode (So it becomes a separate object) apply a different material to it then set the material to Wire in the materials tab and tick Shadeless. Then scale the model slightly (ALT + S) which fattens the wireframe model to fit over the solid model. There are other ways to render out wireframes in Blender though. I just do it this way as I have done for several years now.

Keep it up and don't be discouraged! We were all beginners at one point.

PS: If you need any help or advice feel free to PM me.

    Hey thanks for reply,
I did use an image from google as concept but didn't want to post it because I didn't make it and wasn't sure of copyright.  Anyway here is a more front on picture with a wireframe.

all in all, my next one i'll use more reference images and focus more on proportions, the body seems a bit beefy tbh.
