Hi! I have doing this 3d stuff for a short while but am nowhere near the level I want to be. I am hoping by posting here, I will be able to improve on this.
What I am hoping in the end is to be able to paint anime stylized art in 3d and achieve an art style I can call my own. Will try to post one model every other day.
I will update this post to show my newest model. You can see the rest of my stuff at my sketchfab.

and of course the polycount wiki has some good stuff too under "painting stylistic textures".

Those are nice tutorials that I've seen but wasn't what I was looking for.

Good advice. I wasn't really thinking of the design of it when I started and just wanted to paint something. Will keep this in mind when I make future stuff.
For today I made a fruit from the touhou doujin "Tenco's Story". Using a page from the doujin as reference.
Some things are off in the texturing. I think it is because my lines in the shadows are not clean enough. I will try to practice to draw cleaner lines so I can draw the shadows in one smooth stroke instead of many sketchy lines.
Another thing that is off is the lighting? I`m not that sure actually.
