I love this show. A while back I blocked out the ship and I think I’m going to pick it up again. You gotta make stuff for YOU, ya know? :D

This as fun as hell to work on, and I think it will continue to be as long as I’m a fan of the series…which will be Fo-EVA <3

The level is totally playable in Unity 5, and my plans are to do some texture work with Substance. This is something I do for fun;  ore progress to come. I want bring the art to completion and post a playable First-Persion, Interactive Walk-through online. I <3 Unity

I’ll keep you posted.

    Update!

Been a while since I've worked on this, so i thought I'd do an update dump.

this is pretty fun to run around in.

You're blocking out an enormous amount of work for yourself. I'd recommend taking one room to completion before you try tackling the rest of the ship.

Thanks for our imput, Kevin! :)   (I get excited when someone responds)
I agree this is a lot of work, so this sort of turned into my "pipeline project" I'm using this to learn Substance Designer and Substance painter and try new software and tools to learn faster ways to complete large amounts of work. I'm not really focusing an art pocket like I have before, and what would probably look the best since this is a learning project for me.

On the games I've worked on in the past, the studios had a philosophy of "get the whole thing looking like 20% then everything 30%" and so on and so on. I don't know necessarily whether or not that's a healthy philosophy or not (small studios), but i'm trying it out here.

That's a perfectly viable philosophy for a studio as it's better to ship a game with art at eighty percent than a game missing content it needs. But in a personal portfolio, there's no advantage at all to having a big project eighty percent done, and a big advantage in having a tiny area that looks amazing.

Yeah, I understand the perks of doing a pocket. I'm making a level, I don't have a deadline, and it won't be called "done" at 80%. This is a WIP, and I may not ever finish it, and that's okay. It's the study that's important to me.
