Hi guys.
I am new to Maya so be nice, please, I feel like I should know how to solve this by now. I recently started a course specializing in Game Art and I have encountered a weird situation when I go to extrude selected faces. I have checked for N sided faces, extra edge loops, extrudes, and have had my lecturer check, he says I'm in the clear, he did say something but his attention was diverted and forgot to assist me.
However, when I go to extrude, I break the mesh and it becomes pointed. My guess is that is may have to do with the scale or the construction of the mesh itself.
Will someone kindly assist me and tell me where I screwed up and whether this predicament is solvable? I need to put some wings on this baby and move ahead so I can start learning UVing tomorrow. Images below and if you need additional info, please ask.
