Hello there,
I have been practicing 3d modeling for a year now. Learning from digital tutors, youtube, polycount and 80.lvl. This is the first little more complex model that looks like I might have the skills to finnish some day

I have been using Maya student version for now. I know the basics in mudbox and substance painter and designer.
Here is half of the low poly so far. Some little things are missing tho.

And here is the concept art

I am almost at the stage where i put in the hard/soft edges. Is this the right stage to do so? Or should I do it while I am unwrapping?
I would like to do High poly inside maya if possible with the sculpting tools, but i am not sure they are sufficent. I might use mudbox, i just hate when it tells my topology is wrong, and i cant fix it. Might just have to power through it.
Is it normal to do the low poly first? I see many people do high first and then retopo. To me it seems natural.
Thanks for the advice.
